X GAMES - VARX - Heat Report

Scott Speed, No. 77 7UP Volkswagen Polo

"After an incident in our Heat round this morning, a door basically opened up for us. We will start on the inside of the front row in the second set of heat sessions tomorrow. If we get good starts and we don't get into any build up than it's our race. We're going to be on pole position the rest of these heats as long as we stay clean. My only focus heading into tomorrow is to stay consistent and make sure the 7UP Volkswagen stays out of trouble."

Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo

"The X Games Austin track is short, but sweet so it makes it really difficult to setup the car up for it and I've still been struggling to find the last few tenths. Now worrying about tenths is over, frankly with how tight the track is it's all about the start and staying in the lead at this point. Heat one is finished and out of the way with both Volkswagens taking the heat wins. In my heat it was a little bit of the hard way since I won the start and then there was an immediate red flag, so we had to do it a second time. Happy to move on, we're in the best position we can be and now we'll fight it out against new guys tomorrow morning in heat two."
