Kyle Larson Claims ARCA Series Victory at Pocono Raceway

Kyle Larson made his third-career start in the ARCA Racing Series on Saturday afternoon at Pocono Raceway and claimed victory in the No. 4 Cartwheel by Target Chevrolet after leading 66 of the race's 80 laps. Despite having no prior experience at the Tricky Triangle, Larson and his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) team first won the pole award on Friday afternoon after laying down the fastest lap time amongst the 30-car field. Leading the pack as the green flag waved, Larson radioed to his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) crew chief Scott Zipadelli that his Cartwheel Chevy was tight getting into the center. After making a few laps around the 2.5-mile track, Larson reported that the tight condition had gone away. With the first caution arose on lap seven, Larson visited pit road for a fuel-only stop. He restarted in the third position on lap 11 but quickly took back the lead and remained out front until lap 50, when he visited pit road again for fuel and four fresh tires. Unfortunately, after pitting, Larson did not obey the ARCA Racing Series blend line rules at Pocono and received a drive-through penalty, but with such a large lead, Larson served his penalty and still remained in the first position. After the final caution of the race at lap 65, Larson restarted in the first position but lost the lead on the backstretch. After resuming the lead with two laps to go, Larson took the victory in the No. 4 Cartwheel by Target Chevy for TSM.

Larson's primary TSM NNS crew built and prepared the No. 4 Cartwheel Chevy Impala for the ARCA race at Pocono Raceway. This win marks the third overall victory for Larson's team this season and the sixth combined win for TSM in 2014 among the four series in which it has competed (ARCA, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NNS).

Kyle Larson on his Victory at Pocono Raceway
"My Turner Scott Motorsports team and I had a great time over the past few days here at Pocono. It was really cool to win the pole award yesterday and then the race today. My Nationwide Series guys spent what was supposed to be their off weekend here in Pocono, so I was really happy to get them into victory lane. Racing in a different series like ARCA is a lot of fun; it really helped me gain some experience, since I've never raced at this track before. I was definitely able to learn a couple of things that I can use in the Sprint Cup race tomorrow, so hopefully that will put me one step ahead of the other track rookies. I can't thank everyone at Turner Scott Motorsports enough for their hard work on this car."
