The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series visits the Sonoma Valley for the 26th consecutive year at the Toyota/Save Mart 350. This marks the first of two road-course events on the schedule.

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is measured in kilometers. The race distance is 218.9 miles or 110 laps around the 1.99-mile road course.

Friday: Great Clips Fast Friday NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Practice, Noon-1:50 p.m.; NASCAR Pro Series West Final Practice, 2 p.m.-3:20 p.m.; Great Clips Fast Friday NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Final Practice, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: NASCAR Pro Series West Qualifying, 9:00 a.m.; Lean1 Pole Day NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Qualifying, 11:05 a.m.; Carneros 200 NASCAR Pro Series West Race (64 Laps), 12:30 p.m.

Martin Truex Jr. earned his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road-course victory when he took the checkers in Sonoma in 2013. Truex Jr. became the ninth different race winner as many years, and the seventh consecutive driver to claim his first Sprint Cup Series road-course victory. The win also marked the second consecutive Sonoma victory for Michael Waltrip Racing…. Jeff Gordon is the undisputed king of Sonoma, with five victories (1998-2000, ‘04, ‘06) and five pole positions (1998-99, ‘01, ‘04, ‘05). Gordon also boasts 13 top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes – the most of any driver…. Two-time winners in Sonoma include Rusty Wallace (1990, ‘96), Ernie Irvan (1992, ‘94), Ricky Rudd (1989, 2002) and Tony Stewart (2001, ‘05).… Gordon has completed the most laps of any NASCAR driver in Sonoma, 2,117 of 2,441 laps… Rookie and Elk Grove native Kyle Larson will make his Sonoma Raceway debut. Larson has posted three top-five and six top-10 finishes and is now 10th in Sprint Cup point standings.

Jeff Gordon currently leads the Sprint Cup Series point standings by just 16 points over Matt Kenseth. Nine different drivers have posted victories so far this season, and four drivers have posted multiple victories. Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick have each earned two wins.

Under the new NASCAR qualifying procedures, at tracks measuring 1.25 miles in length or less and both road course events qualifying will consist of two elimination rounds that will determine the starting grid. The first qualifying elimination round will be 30 minutes in duration and includes all cars. The 12 cars that post the fastest single lap will advance to the final round. The final qualifying round will be 10 minutes in duration and the fastest single lap time will determine positions 1 through 12. The fastest driver in the final round will earn the pole position for the race.

The weekend will also feature the Carneros 200 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race on Saturday, June 21 at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific). The race will span 64 laps and a handful of Sprint Cup Series regulars are expected to compete. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars have won nearly half of the last Sonoma West series races in the last decade.
Race fans will also be treated to a 25-minute air show by Byron’s Patriots Jet Demonstration Team, the nation's only civilian aerobatic jet team, for a eighth straight year during pre-event ceremonies on race day, June 22. It's the only air show of its kind on the NASCAR circuit.
Major League Baseball pitching great Vida Blue will be Grand Marshal for this year’s Toyota/Save Mart 350
Sonoma Raceway will host a Nathan’s Famous Inc. hot dog eating qualifier during pre-event ceremonies on Sunday. The top male and top female finishers from the qualifier will earn a spot to compete in the ESPN-televised finals at the original Nathan’s Famous on Coney Island. San Jose’s Joey Chestnut, the world’s top ranked competitive eater, will be on hand to oversee the competition.
