Surging GEICO Honda Riders Planning To Heat Things Up In The East

Coming off of a successful mile-high challenge last weekend in Denver, 250SX East champion Justin Bogle from the vaunted GEICO Honda team is heading East to continue his fight for the Motocross title at the High Point National.

As always, teammates Zach Bell and Matt Bisceglia will be alongside Bogle, and the three plan to be ready for whatever Southwest Pennsylvania has to offer.

Bogle achieved his career-best Motocross finish in Denver last weekend and has his eyes set on a win. He feels confident that his team and trainer have him on his way to the front.

"High Point should be a good race based on my results there in the past," said Bogle, who logged third- and second-place results last Saturday in Denver for an overall second-place finish. "The track actually is very similar to Thunder Valley. It's technical and has plenty of jumps, so I'm definitely looking forward to this race considering how well last weekend went for us.

"Our bike will be ready also. We did quite a lot of suspension changes to it going into Lakewood that really worked. I think we have a good base setting going into the next few rounds."

Teammate Bisceglia finished last weekend just outside of the top 10 and has his mind set on overcoming what he describes as his "current plateau." Bisceglia said Denver was a bit of a wake-up call in seeing where his level of training needs to be to compete for the championship.

"I need to work on my intensity this week and get past the pace I am currently in," Bisceglia said. "I need to push it to the next level and work harder on my speed and intensity. I'm going to go back to work this week and just push myself really hard to get ready for High Point. I need to push myself harder than ever before.

"This weekend will be my first time at High Point. I have never ridden there, so I am excited to see what it's all about. I know the track is really hilly and fast, so like I said, I need to pick it up this week to train for it. My bike is ready and I will be, too."

Bell may have a slight advantage going into this weekend when it comes to training. He will put his own South Georgia track to good use by acclimating to the heat as well as deteriorating track conditions that occur during race weekends.

"Going into High Point I'm going to ride my trail track as much as I can," Bell said. "It has a lot of ruts and holes so I can get used to getting in and out of them. I have only ridden the track at High Point once as an amateur, so I am not used to the track. But I know it's pretty dry and fast, so I am looking forward to it.

"It's going to be hot there, so I need to go home and ride a lot to get used to the heat since California conditions are very different. I want to be ready for anything."

MAVTV will carry the first motos live from 1-3 p.m. ET. Programming will then shift to NBC Sports for the second motos, which will air live from 3-5 p.m. ET.
