2014 Road America: TriStar Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview

From the "Irish Hills" of Michigan, to the legendary four-mile, 14-turn road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers are ready to turn left and right this weekend for the Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville. TriStar Motorsports will field three Toyota Racing Camrys this weekend for the first road course race of the season.

Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry
After being out of the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry for two weeks, Eric McClure will be back behind the wheel this weekend at Road America. McClure has four previous Nationwide Series starts at the track and finished 27th in 2013 after starting 35th. His average starting position is 33.2 and his average finishing position is 25.5. McClure has 12 starts at various road course tracks on the Nationwide Series circuit. Having been out of the car for two weeks, McClure is refreshed and ready to strap in and turn left and right.

Mike Bliss, No. 19 TriStar Motorsports Camry
Mike Bliss is no stranger to racing road courses on the NASCAR circuit. Bliss has 18 starts at various road course tracks in the Nationwide Series, four of which came at Road America. His average starting position is 23.5 and he has an average finishing position of 23.0. Bliss's best finish at Road America came back in 2012 when he started 19th and finished 13th. After finishing 18th in Michigan last weekend, Bliss is ready for a change in scenery and battle the meandering four-mile track on Saturday afternoon.

Carlos Contreras, No. 44 38 Special/Ingersoll Rand/VOLI Camry
NASCAR's first Hispanic driver, Carlos Contreras, will pilot the No. 44 38 Special/Ingersoll Rand/VOLI Camry for the first time this season. Contreras will make his 93rd NASCAR start at Road America, his first at the four-mile 14-turn course. Contreras is considered a road course "ringer" due to his vast experience turning left and right throughout his successful racing career.

Be sure to tune into the Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville on Saturday, June 21 at 2:30PM ET on ABC, MRN radio and Sirius XM Channel 90.
