Ombra Racing In Jerez To Keep Momentum

After three podium finishes in the first four races of the 2014 GT Open season, Ombra Racing are travelling to Jerez de la Frontera to tackle round three of the championship organized and promoted by GT Sport. On the track located in the southernmost region of Spain, just a few miles off the African coastline, the Italian team aim to impress once more, keeping momentum after such a striking start to their 2014 campaign. Premises are good: not only the win and second place finish clinched in Portimao by Costantini-Sicart and Gattuso-Cordoni respectively bode well for the remainder of the season, but on top of that Jerez is a track that has seen Ombra Racing perform very well in the past. Last year, in particular, the team took a third place finish in GTS Class on the Andalusian venue, a result they aim to improve the coming weekend.

The event's schedule will feature two Free Practice sessions on Friday, a very busy Saturday with two Qualifying sessions plus Race 1 (starting at 4 PM), and a less hectic Sunday, with the start of Race 2 set for 1 PM.

Davide Mazzoleni (Team Manager): "Last year we did well in Jerez, clinching a well deserverd third place finish. This year our aim is to improve that result. Compared to 2013 we have a better line-up and a car that is both quicker and easier to drive thanks to an even more refined setup, so I think that another win could be well in our reach. We will have to overcome a 20-strong field, and a track that is very technical and harsh on tyres, but we have all is needed to succeed and once again we'll do our best to leave Andalusia with a trophy".
