Together with his father, Thomas, the Merzouga Rally counts already 6 German riders this year with Michael Ott-Eulberg, Tina Meier, Christine SteinKrauss and Susanne Kohlbacher.

Class 1991, with 23 years old, Tony is a university student: he studies mechatronics and he manufactures navigation equipment, specifically studied and used in rallyes. His first rally was in 2010 in Abu Dhabi, since then he did some Baja in Germany and also the Tuareg Rally in Tunisia. This year he will take part to the Merzouga Rally for the first time.

What is special about rally raids?
“I enjoy being in the middle of the desert and being able to find the correct route by utilising a few tools such as the road book and the trip master. It gives me a sense of satisfaction in a way and one always comes across amazing sceneries”.

What are your expectations from Merzouga Rally?
“From what I have heard and read, I expect to experience a first class event with a great organisation as well as outstanding routes through the vast deserts of Morocco”.

How is sharing a rally raid experience with your father?
“It's great. I can learn a lot from him since he has almost 30 years of rallying experience on and off the bike”.

How do you know about Merzouga Rally?
“I met Edo Mossi during the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in 2010. Since then we stayed in touch and finally this year I made it to join the rally”.
