SMP Racing, who will be introducing their new LMP2 chassis, will campaign a two car team in the 2015 WEC utilizing the highly successful Zytek/Nissan VK45DE engine, which powered the first and second placed LMP2 cars at the Le Mans 24 Hour race last Sunday 15th June.

The team which will be based in the south of France has ordered five engines for the assault.

Boris Rotenberg, Chairman of SMP Racing has commented “With the LMP2 in house project SMP Racing has begun a new chapter in his development and in Russia Motorsport. To achieve its very high objectives SMP Racing is looking for the best partners for all the different key elements that will compose the car. Signing with Zytek/Nissan was therefore the logical move as they are at the moment at the top of their field. We are eager to start what will be definitively a very successful collaboration together.”

John Manchester Zytek’s Operations Director said “This is a very exciting project and we are pleased to be a part of it. The Zytek/Nissan engine has proved itself to be the engine of choice for LMP2 racing and has had unrivalled success since its launch. We look forward to providing SMP Racing the highest standard of product for their 2015 racing campaign”.
