Global Rallycross Practice Report - Volkswagen Rallycross DC

Scott Speed, No. 77 7UP Volkswagen Polo

Suffered a mechanical issue after the final SuperCar practice session
The California native still has a chance to redeem himself in tomorrow's semi-finals

"Even after everything that happened out there today, the good news is that we're still very fast. We only had two sessions in on the DC track and in those two sessions we were super competitive and quick. The bad news is that we suffered a mechanical failure, and despite a ton of hard work from the Volkswagen Andretti team, we weren't able to solve our problems and get back out there. We'll get our 7UP, United Fiber & Data Volkswagen ready for tomorrow and focus on making our way through the pack."

On tomorrow's Volkswagen Beetle unveil...
"I'm looking forward to driving the new race Beetle on the track tomorrow for two laps after after the unveil. It's going to be pretty awesome seeing it in our 7UP branding. I'm actually going to be really looking forward to getting out to the track early, jumping in the front seat and turning it on."

Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo

Suffered a mechanical issue post-seeding sessions around the .49-mile circuit
The No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen will have a second chance in tomorrow's semi-finals
"It's a bummer to come to such a beautiful track that Andretti and Volkswagen have laid out. They have done an incredible job transforming a parking lot at RFK Stadium and turning it into a racing circuit. It was an unfortunate day for us with some handling and engine problems. Andretti Autosport is working hard to get these cars up and running for the morning. The format for tomorrow plays in our favor, we dive straight into the semi-finals and still have a chance to take the weekend. With a good result in the semi-finals we can be in a good position for the finals and still be in the hunt. Tomorrow will be an epic battle for the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen."

On the Volkswagen race Beetle launch...
"I'm so stoked for the fans to see the new race Beetle. I drove the car earlier this week and it's an amazing machine. I think it's going to blow a lot of people away with how capable the iconic Beetle we have known and loved over the decades handles on a racetrack."
