GT Open: AF Corse And The First Positions In The Championship

The target was to gain new positive results strengthening the spots in the championship’s standing. The AF Corse drivers in the Ferrari 458 Italia succeeded in the mission. In the third round of the 2014 International GT Open, one thing is clear: cars and drivers of the Italian team are always to beat aspiring to the top positions.

RACE 1 – New great perfomance for Giorgio Roda in the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #56. Together with his teammates Paolo Ruberti, the young driver - at his debut in the GT Open – took the chequered flag in second position among the GTS cars; in addition, the third place in overall standing. Thanks to the result, Roda is leading the GTS Drivers standing with 30 points; Ruberti did not run every race and has 17 points in eight place. Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin finished seventh in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #54. Ninth in race 1 Claudio Sdanewitsch and Michele Rugolo in the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #55.

RACE 2 – Other podium thanks to Claudio Sdanewitsch and Michele Rugolo: in race 2, they were second in GTS and third in overall standing. Sdanewitsch advances his position in the championship classification:

presently he is third with 24 points (Rugolo did not race every round of the championship and is fifth). Seventh position in race 2 for Cameron and Griffin (twelfth in the championship standing on 11 points). Roda and Ruberti were forced to retire after an off-track.
In the GTS Team stading, AF Corse is more and more leader thanks to its 69 points (Ombra Racing is second, 26 points). Ferrari rules in the GTS Manufactures with 95 points (the second is Porsche, 21 points).
The next round of the GT Open will be in the Hungaroring, July 6 and 7.
