Another Point Scoring Weekend For Tom Blomqvist

The first race saw early contact off the start dropping Tom from sixth on the grid to twelfth. Esteban Ocon retired on the first lap due to damage; and as a result Blomqvist knew he had to make the race count to gain as many points on the championship leader as possible. A solid drive from Tom saw him climb back through the field early on and gained three places on his first lap. By lap sixth tom had secured fifth; he had a large gap to bridge, of over ten seconds to the man in front. A safety car saw the cars bunch back together and tom capitalised taking fourth place, where he finished race one.

Race three Blomqvist was at the tail end of the grid in 22nd. Another solid drive saw him work his way up the order, and by lap four he was already up to fourteenth. Another safety car favoured Tom and off the restart gained again bringing him to ninth. With three minutes to go, he gained another place leaving him eighth overall where he finished the race.

Race three Blomqvist had qualified eighteenth on the grid. He once again showed his class to close up on the top ten and secured sixth place in the remaining few minutes of the race.

The weekend saw Tom claim 24 points, however with rival Ocon placing second twice; he extended his lead out front. Three out of three wins for Max Verstappen puts him only nineteen points behind second place Tom Blomqvist.

Tom heads to the Norisring this weekend where a he looks to gain consistency and secure his second place in the championship and to close the gap to rival Ocon.
