2014 NHRA: Don Schumacher Racing To Unveil Riley Red Wagon Funny Car


Don Schumacher Racing enjoys a winning tradition on the race track and in support of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. On Wednesday, June 25, Don Schumacher Racing, sponsor Terry Chandler, driver Tommy Johnson, Jr., and Riley Hospital cancer survivor A.J. Stinger will unveil a Riley red wagon NHRA Funny Car - their latest philanthropic effort to raise awareness for Indiana's only nationally ranked and comprehensive children's hospital.

T.J. will drive the 10,000-horsepower, 320-mph Funny Car at the U.S. Nationals in Brownsburg on Labor Day weekend. The Riley red wagon Funny Car will be on display at Riley Hospital through August 8, and at Indianapolis International Airport preceding the U.S. Nationals.

Honoring A.J.
Fourteen-year-old race car fanatic A.J. will share his cancer battle and help unveil the Riley red wagon Funny Car. Afterwards, Don Schumacher Racing has surprises in store for the Marion, Ind., teenager:

Custom fit Riley race suit to match the one worn by T.J.
Since 2006, Don Schumacher Racing has donated over $240,000 for Riley Hospital through their annual open house and bowling event. This year, Don Schumacher Racing hopes to raise an additional $30,000.

T.J., who resides in Avon, Ind., was victorious in the Funny Car race at Bristol, Tenn., on Father's Day.
