The weather played a major factor in the weekend, first causing both practices to be combined into one practice session on Friday afternoon. Clements finished practice after 5 laps, posting the 14th fastest time. After running 2 laps during the qualifying session, Clements secured a 13th place starting position for the 50 lap race.

Rain continued to plaque the weekend, delaying the start of the race. The first caution came out on lap 13, and Clements brought the No. 51 Chevy to pit road for tires and adjustments. Issues during the pit stop caused Clements to restart in 24th, however he made quick work of making his way back up through the field. With rain falling, NASCAR called the caution on lap 26 for team to put on rain tires. Clements restarted in 14th, and continued his march forward. With 8 laps to go, Clements spun, but recovered quickly with no damage to the No. 51 Chevy. As the sun came out, drying the track, and the caution flag flew just short of 50 laps, many teams decided to pit to put back on the slick Goodyear Eagle tires. Crew Chief Ricky Pearson made the call for Clements to stay out and complete the race on the rain tires. Restarting in 9th position for the Green-White-Checkered, Clements managed to move up three more spots to finish in 6th place.

“I’m so excited for our small team, finishing in 6th” said Clements. “What an awesome finish at a super fun track. The rain definitely made it interesting. So proud of my guys, getting this car ready to bring here in just 3 days. “
