2014 Kentucky: TriStar Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview


The NASCAR Nationwide Series is at Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign 300 Presented by Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. The NNS race will be under the lights on Friday night. Three of our Nationwide Series teams took part in a NNS test day yesterday at the speedway. Below is the TriStar Motorsports pre-race report:

Eric McClure, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry

Eric McClure and the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry are coming off a top-20 finish this past weekend at Road America and are hoping to capture another great finish this weekend. This will be McClure's 11th career NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Kentucky Speedway and 239th career start overall. He has an average starting position of 35.3 and an average finishing position of 28.4. McClure's best finish at the 1.5-mile speedway came back in 2012 when he finished 22nd.

Mike Bliss, No. 19 Trane Camry

Coming off of a 10th place finish at Road America last weekend, Mike Bliss and TriStar Motorsports have teamed up with Trane for the 300-mile race at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night. Bliss will make his 12th career start at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. He has one top-5 finish and three top-10 finishes, with an average start of 15.9 and an average finishing position of 18.8. Bliss has 190 starts on tracks averaging one to two miles in length, and has two wins, 20 top-5s, 47 top-10s and two pole wins on these various tracks.

Blake Koch, No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry

Blake Koch is back behind the wheel of the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry this weekend in Kentucky. With four previous starts at Kentucky Speedway in the Nationwide Series, Koch has an average starting position of 33.2 and an average finishing position of 34.0. His best Nationwide Series finish at Kentucky Speedway was 22nd back in 2011. This will be Koch's 56th career Nationwide Series start on one to two mile speedways and his 98th career start overall.
