Fall-Line Motorsports Watkins Glen TUSC Preview

Fall Line Motorsports launched their (then) GT program with the Audi R8 LMS at Watkins Glen International for the 6-hour endurance race just one year ago this weekend. The upcoming event marks the second Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen for this fledgling program, now in its first full season of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship (TUSC) in the GTD category. Drivers Charlie Putman and Charles Espenlaub are competing this weekend, as they have the entire season thus far, with the addition of Audi factory driver Marco Bonanomi. Bonanomi is fresh from the 24 Hours of Le Mans just two weeks ago where he ran as high as second before being taken out by another competitor. He brings enormous talent and a wealth of knowledge about the Audi R8 LMS to the team. The historic event is the third of four races of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup, which is a sub-championship that is comprised of the endurance events on the2014 schedule

Drivers Putman and Espenlaub have keptbusy, per usual, since the last race at Belle Isle in May. They competed at the 24-Hoursof Nurburgring just last weekend and jet set back to the U.S. with little down-time in between race events. The longtime driver duo have faced enormous adversity and extremely poor luck thus far in the GTD season, but as longtime racers, they know fortune can change overnight. Hopefully this weekend is the time "the Charlies" and the Fall-Line team achieve the results they desire and deserve.

Audi factory driver Marco Bonanomi has an extensive motorsports resume. He completed a typical motorsport career from karts to international single seaters. He was Formula 3 development driver for Volkswagen in 2007 and 2008. Bonanomi is associated with the four rings for the fifth consecutive year in 2014 and has been integrated since 2011 into the LMP project, where he assumes several functions. He tested new solutions for 2014 at an early stage. He contests the Le Mans 24 Hours this year as well as the Spa 6 Hours, where he mounted the podium two years ago.

Marco Bonamoni: "It is a great honor to be part of Fall-Line Motorsports campaign in the forthcoming TUSC round at Watkins Glen. This race is not only part of the Tudor United Sports Car Championship, but at the same time it is one of four rounds of the North American Endurance Championship, so there's an extra bonus. It would be great to help bolstering Fall-Line Motorsports' points account in the six-hour race at the Glen. I will do my utmost to help the dedicated team to achieve their targets and I'm looking forward to racing in America. It's great to be back in the Audi R8 LMS. In a similar car, I have won a championship in Europe already. Now I will join team Fall-Line Motorsports to fight for points in the North American Endurance Championship. We will race at Watkins Glen, an iconic old-school track. Every race driver relishes such a challenge. I'm sure it will be great fun to drive the Audi R8 LMS in this six-hour race together with Charles Espenlaub and Charlie Putman. I'm geared up for an exciting race and I hope we can help bolstering Fall-Line Motorsports' points account."

Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager: "It is great to return to Watkins Glen where we started our relationship with Audi sport customer racing one year ago. We have experienced some torrid luck so far this season but feel we can turn things around this weekend. It is great to welcome Marco to our team and we all look forward to his input as he adjusts to the track and racing in America. The team has worked extremely hard to get to this point and along with great support from Audi sport customer racing we all feel very confident heading into the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen."

Fall-Line Motorsports is a premiere builder and fabricator of racecars for all levels of competition. Fall-Line specializes in BMW, Porsche, Audi and other high-performance makes. Fall-Line Motorsports unveiled their Grand-Am team in 2006 and won the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS Championship title in 2010. In addition to fielding 3 GS BMW M3s in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and an Audi R8 LMS in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Fall-Line also prepares and fabricates cars for other CTSC teams, SCCA and NASA drivers, track day prepared and high performance street vehicles.
