Unlucky Day For Ghiotto In Moscow

A tricky Qualifying session, ruined by traffic, led to a difficult Race 1 for Luca Ghiotto in Moscow. Starting from row 9 of the grid on a track that doesn’t offer any real overtaking spot, the driver from Vicenza couldn’t do better than finishing in 16th place, recovering just one spot on his starting position. His race still offered some good moments, interesting fights with Mavlanov, Sainz Jr and Sorensen, but Luca’s main focus in today’s race was undoubtedly evaluating the setup changes carried out by team, solutions that should bring a competitive advantage in tomorrow’s qualifying, scheduled for 10.50 AM, and in Race 2, starting at 2.30 PM.

Luca Ghiotto: Q1 - P17; R1 - P16
"Luck doesn't want to be on my side here. Yesterday it was the red flag, today it was traffic which spoiled my best qualifying laps. Moscow Raceway is both short and narrow, and slower cars easily become an issue here. Unluckily, those features also mean that overtaking is really difficult here, and that starting from P17 there isn't much you can do. Keeping that in mind, in the race I focused on evaluating the setup changes we did today, so to help the team in refining our car even more for tomorrow".
