2014 Daytona II (Coke Zero 400): Justin Allgaier NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Preview

Returning to Daytona...Justin Allgaier will be making his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start this weekend at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). Allgaier qualified his way in to the Daytona 500 in February with the No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet. He led four laps in his first start at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, but his night ended in an accident with just a few laps to go in the race. He has two top fives, five top 10s and has led 20 laps in 10 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts at the famed superspeedway. Allgaier also has experience in the ARCA Racing Series at DIS with two top 10s in two starts.

Meet Justin...Allgaier will appear for a Q&A session at the Team Chevy stage located in the DIS Fan Zone on Friday, July 4 at 3:50 p.m. EDT.

Welcome Aboard...This weekend, the No. 51 car will sport a flat black and green paint scheme with AccuDoc Solutions as the primary sponsor. AccuDoc Solutions is based in Morrisville, N.C. and provides billing-statement printing and processing to hospitals and hospital-based physicians. In addition to paper-based billing statements, ADS enables patients to choose electronic statement delivery and make payments through secure online payment portals. Kentucky Recap...Allgaier completed his first NSCS race at Kentucky Speedway last Saturday night. After completing Friday's two practice sessions mid-pack on the practice chart, Allgaier qualified 28th for Saturday night's Quaker State 400. Even with rain in the area, the 267-lap race started on time and Allgaier drove the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy home to a 24th-place finish for HScott Motorsports.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year...After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 AccuDoc Solutions Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Kentucky, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.

Justin Allgaier on Daytona International Speedway:
"Daytona [International Speedway] is one of the tracks we've kind of circled as a team because it's really an equalizer between everyone. Anyone can win the race as long as you are still running towards the end. We get our cars from Hendrick and they really have a handle on that track, so I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Aero is extremely important there, so not getting any damage during the race is one of the keys. Another key is spotter communication since we race so close together in the big pack."

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Daytona International Speedway:
"Daytona [International Speedway] and the superspeedways are unique because there's not a lot we can do at the track to make big changes to the car. Once we unload off of the truck, what you've got is what you've got. Everything is done back at the shop with aero, etc. The key for Justin is just to be there at the end without a damaged car and he'll have as good of a shot as anybody else for the win."
