Almirola Proudly Carries US Air Force Colors For Fourth Of July Weekend

This weekend brings opportunity, patriotism and family for Aric Almirola as the Sprint Cup Series heads to Daytona International Speedway. Almirola knows this weekend is a great opportunity to score a win and earn a spot in the "Chase for the Sprint Cup." A win at Daytona, Almirola's home track, would be a perfect way to capture his first Sprint Cup Series win in front of family and friends.

The No. 43 team will proudly carry red, white and blue colors with the U.S. Air Force on the hood of the iconic car for this holiday weekend in support of all the men and women that keep our country safe. Almirola will participate in a Delayed Entry Program (DEP) Swear-In at 4:30 p.m. in the Fan Midway, where he will help welcome these young men and women into the U.S. Air Force as part of the swear-in ceremony.

Caught up in the "Big One" in the Daytona 500 earlier this season, Almirola looks for redemption at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. The team showed speed in the Daytona 500 earlier this year and backed it up at Talladega Superspeedway when the team took home a 13th-place finish.

This weekend brings opportunity, patriotism and family for @Aric Almirola and the No. 43 @US Air Force team as they head to Almirola's home track, @Daytona International Speedway. Almirola and team know this weekend is a great opportunity to score a win and earn a spot in the "Chase for the @Sprint Cup."

"Daytona is so much about circumstances. It's the holy grail of motorsports and two hours away from my hometown, so of all the places that I would want to run well or win, that's the place. I would love nothing more to win at Daytona. I've been in positions where I've had really good cars and where I feel like I was in the right spot to run up front and something out of nowhere happened. You name it; I've had all kinds of things happen to me there. I don't know why, but Daytona has always been a race of circumstances out of my control. If they were ever in my control, I think we would have a good opportunity to run really well there and possibly get a win. I feel really good about going to Daytona for the night race. We ran better at night than we did during the day for the 500 earlier this year, so I think that will be in our favor this weekend.

"This weekend is a really special weekend for our country, and to have the Air Force on our car during such a patriotic weekend is an honor. We spend a lot of time with members of the Air Force each weekend, but it's extra special during the Fourth of July weekend. I look forward to doing all we can to give back to the men and women that keep our country safe, and hopefully, we can do that in Victory Lane on Saturday."
