Balthasar began his racing career at the age of ten years in karting and participated in different karting championships. In 2012, Balthasar switched to formula racing and competed in ADAC Formula Masters. In 2013, Balthasar was racing in Formula 3 Trophy, where we scored 13 race wins and 20 podium positions and became champion in this category.

Sebastian Balthasar will make his debut with Hilmer Motorsport in GP3 Series on 04th July. If the weekend in Silverstone is a successful one, the team and Balthasar are open to decide about participating in further races this season.

The practice in Silverstone will take place on Friday (04th July) at 17:50 local time (18:50 CEST). Qualifying and the first race will start on Saturday (05th July) at 08:45 (09:45 CEST) and 16:20 (17:20 CEST) respectively. Race start on Sunday (06th July) will be at 08:10 (09:10 CEST).

Franz Hilmer, Team Principal of Hilmer Motorsport:
"We are very happy to have Sebastian Balthasar in our team and we would like to give him a warm welcome. Sebastian is a young and talented driver who raced in Formula 3. We want to give him the opportunity to show his talent in Silverstone and we hope that we will work together well. If everyone is satisfied with the result of the race weekend in England, we would be very happy if Sebastian would stay with us for the rest of the season.”

Sebastian Balthasar, Driver #17 Hilmer Motorsport:
“I am very delighted that I get to race in GP3 Series this weekend. It is a phantastic opportunity to prepare and develop for my future career. I would like to thank Franz Hilmer and his team that I can be with them in Silverstone. I have never raced on this track before, I only did some laps on the simulator. But I can’t wait to do my first laps in practice.”
