2014 Pocono: Andretti Autosport Indy Lights Qualifying Recap

Zach Veach, No. 26 RePLAY XD
• Secured his fourth career (third this season) pole position for today's Pocono 100
• Led six laps and finished in second place - the Indy Lights sophomore's sixth podium for 2014

"Overall, for what we had, I think we did a good job with it. I think we had a second-place car and we got second. I'm just a little disappointed; we were fighting with some issues with the dash(board). You have your shift lights that tell you which gear you can run, and just on that restart, I managed to get around Gabby (Chaves) on the exit of Turn One and my dash glitched out. I thought I could down shift, and when I did, I was already on the limiter for the lower gears. That gave him the pass and kind of set our fate. The RePLAY XD guys really worked their butts off this week, and I think Toronto will be our weekend."

Matthew Brabham, No. 83 United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED
• Started today's race on the 2.5-mile 'Tricky Triangle' in the fifth position
• 20-year-old saw the twin checkers fly in fourth place but was given a "one finishing position penalty for blocking" on the final lap to be shown in fifth - his sixth top-five finish in 2014

"It wasn't the race I really wanted. It was kind of boring just sitting going around and around on my own for a little bit. I think I had a really fast car at the start straight away, and I was able to quickly catch the leaders. After the restart, I just backed out because I got a little nervous of the aero push, and I lost too much. Once I lost touch with the leaders in the tow, I couldn't get back up there and didn't have quite enough speed to really challenge and catch up. It was my first time here (at Pocono Raceway), so I'm not too disappointed. I really wanted a win, but it wasn't our day."
