Brown’s Matco Tools dragster took out Shawn Langdon in his Al-Anabi Racing dragster in the finals for his second win in a row and fifth this season. Brown now trails Kalitta by only 48 points. Langdon is currently third in points, 144 points back of Brown.

John Force snapped out of a slump with his second win of the season, piloting his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang Funny Car to a victory over Ron Capps.

Force, who also won the season-opening event in Pomona, rose to second in points and trails teammate Robert Hight by 178 markers.

Capps, driver of the NAPA Auto Parts Dodge Charger, was appearing in his second final of the season and now sits third in the Funny Car points standings. Jack Beckman, Capps’ teammate at Don Schumacher Racing, had a much needed performance that moved him to 10th in points. Beckman leads 11th place Tim Wilkerson by 21 digits with only five races before the Countdown to the Championship playoff.

In Pro Stock, Erica EndersStevens increased her points lead with her fourth win of the season, defeating former crew chief, Dave Connolly in the final. Enders-Stevens’ Elite Motorsports Chevy Camaro is now 241 points ahead of second place Allen Johnson. Connolly moved to fourth in the points in his Charter Communications Chevy Camaro. In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Andrew Hines saw his points lead escalate with a win over Hector Arana Sr., for his third victory of the season. Hines leads Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson teammate Eddie Krawiec by 69 markers.

Arana Sr., appearing in his second consecutive final round, rose to fourth in points in his Lucas Oil Buell.
