Live Music Tops Off The Finger Lakes Wine Festival

Live music will fill the air during this year’s Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 11-13. While festival attendees savor Finger Lakes wines and fine cuisine, explore numerous craft vendors and spin around the world-famous racing circuit in a professionally driven MINI, they will experience live music from many different artists.

To kick-off the weekend, Blues Plate Special will perform at Friday night’s Yancey’s Fancy Launch of The Lakes. (Separate admission is required for this event.) The weekend of music will continue with the two-man blues band, A Strange Kind of Sunshine, playing a mix of classic blues standards by artist such as Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, and Muddy Waters, along with original blues music. Adding a taste of reggae and calypso to the weekend, Outer Reef sets the summer scene with their mix of songs from artists such as Jimmy Buffet, Zac Brown, Booker T., The Beach Boys, and The Beatles. Fan favorite, Virgil Cain again brings his talent to the festival, as do William Groome, and Larry Stamatel and the Swampdogs.

Returning to The Glen after performing during Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Tim Ruffo of Maine, NY and his four-piece band will bring listeners to their feet as they dance to outlaw-country inspired music. Influenced by a variety of country icons such as Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, as well as groups such as Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones, Ruffo creates a country-rock sound rooted in emotions drawn from personal experience.
