2014 Iowa: Tyler Young NASCAR Truck Race Recap

Tyler Young, driver of the No. 02 Randco Industries/Young's Building Systems Chevrolet Silverado, kept his string of top-20 finishes alive in Fridaynight's American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway in Newton. Making his second start at the 7/8-mile track, Young turned a track-best qualifying effort into a track-best finish, finishing 17th in the ninth race on the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender tied his season-best start of 15th during the series' first, two-round Keystone Light pole qualifying session on Fridayafternoon, and backed it up with his fifth consecutive top-20 finish of the 2014 season. The solid run advanced the Midland, TX native two positions to 16th in the NCWTS driver point standings.

• Young's 15th-place start in the American Ethanol 200 was a track-best for the Midland, TX native at Iowa Speedway in just his second start
• Young's 17th-place finish at Iowa Speedway was a track-best for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender
• Crew chief Bryan Berry brought the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado down pit road twice during the 200 lap event under the first and fourth caution flags at lap 40 and 127, respectively
• The solid effort marked Young's fifth consecutive top-20 finish since Dover (May)
• Young was the fourth-highest finishing Sunoco Rookie
• Erik Jones won the 6th Annual American Ethanol 200, his first win of 2014 and his second victory in nine NCWTS starts
• Ryan Blaney, Matt Crafton, Joey Coulter and German Quiroga rounded out the top-five finishers
• The 200-lap event saw four caution flags for 19 laps and six lead changes by four different drivers
• Matt Crafton took over the NCWTS driver point standings following the American Ethanol 200, two points over Ryan Blaney
• The Young's Motorsports team will take a week off before returning to action onWednesday, July 23 for the 1-800CarCash Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH
