WeatherTech.ca Qualifies Seventh at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

WeatherTech.ca Racing qualified seventh in GTD for tomorrow's TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Sportscar Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Leh Keen (Charleston, S.C.) had the controls of the No. 22 WeatherTech.ca Racing Porsche at the challenging 2.4-mile, 10-turn undulating natural terrain road course for qualifying. Looking to back up a second place in the day's first practice, Keen put in a lap of 1:19.356 that will have the team starting tomorrow's two-hour-and-forty-five minute race in seventh. Teammate Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) recorded impressive laps as the duo look to rebound from a tough race at The Glen two weeks ago.

"It has been a little bit of a struggle this weekend," Keen said. "Which is the complete opposite of how The Glen was up until this point two weeks ago. Not the qualifying run that we wanted. We had good pace based upon the practice time sheets, but everyone went quicker in that session and we kind of stayed the same. We will make some more changes on the car tonight and see what happens in the warm-up. There is rain in the forecast for tomorrow as well. I am sure that together with the Alex Job guys we will get it sorted out for the race."

MacNeil is looking for a good points weekend.

"The car for me this morning was pretty good," MacNeil said. "We lost some in qualifying due to a greasy track and us still searching the ultimate set-up. Leh did a good job, only three tenths off of the pole, but seventh. We have some work to do to get the car better for tomorrow and we will get there with the team. We need a good points weekend here to make up for The Glen. We won here last year and took second in 2012, so we know we have what it takes."

Alex Job, team owner, has his team searching for speed.

"We've made a lot of changes to the No. 22 WeatherTech Porsche this weekend," Job said. "Leh and Cooper are providing good feedback we just need to hit that sweet spot. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is the fastest track we will run and the speed comes from confidence in the car. We need to provide them with a little more car-confidence for the race tomorrow. We will get there."

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship will travel to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for round five, July 11-13. The television broadcast will air Sunday, July 13
2:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Live race streaming can be viewed at IMSA.com
Or on the FOX Sports GO mobile app. The live radio broadcast will air on the Motor Racing Network on IMSA.com, MRN.com, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship GTD (GT Daytona) Class is made up of some the world's most sophisticated cars, including the Porsche 911 GT America, Ferrari 458, Aston Martin, BMW Z4, Viper SRT and Audi R8. All GTD Class cars run on the spec Continental tire.

Alex Job Racing is one of the most successful teams in sports car racing with 70 wins (since 1995); including two Rolex 24 GT Class wins in 1999 and 2013. This record is supported by 48 pole positions and 106 podium finishes. The team has won five championships (GTC 2013, 2012, GT in 2004, 2003 and 2002) complimented by their two GT class wins at Le Mans. The team also boasts nine Sebring 12-hour wins.
