Aspar Team And Mahindra Team Up For 2015

Aspar Team will tackle the fourth season of the Moto3 World Championship alongside Indian manufacturer Mahindra. The Spanish outfit, with 22 years of World Championship experience and the undisputed minor category flagship team between 2006 and 2011, will contest the 2015 campaign together with Mahindra, who have been involved with the Moto3 category since it began. The objective is to line up two riders on the Moto3 grid and return to the battle for the world title.

Mahindra is an Indian multinational group based in Mumbai. Mahindra is successful in a variety of sectors, including motorcycle racing, having already achieved podium finishes at Grand Prix level. The goal of the Aspar Team is to help make the Mahindra a race-winning machine. As well as their efforts in the World Championship, the Aspar Team will also contest the FIM CEV (Spanish Championship) with Mahindra machinery.

Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’: “This is an exciting new chapter in the Aspar story. I have been impressed with Mahindra’s attitude and commitment since they entered World Championship motorcycle racing. Mahindra is a huge company and it has a lot of ambition and a desire to win. Their bike is getting better with each race this year and we are all looking forward to working with them.”

SP Shukla: “Welcoming the Aspar Team and Jorge Martinez to the Mahindra Racing family is an important new step on our journey in top-level two-wheeled motor sport. We are relatively new to the two-wheeler market, racing and the World Championship, but having partners like Aspar, and our other customer teams, will help to speed our development”.

Muffadal Choonia: “The Aspar team has discovered some great talent over the years and I think the Aspar-Mahindra combination should prove popular with young riders in the Moto3 class. I am looking forward to working closely with Jorge and his team over the coming months and I’m confident that we can provide them with a very competitive package in 2015.”
