Two Crashes And Only One Point For The Junior Team Go&Fun Moto3 In Germany

The German Grand Prix held today at the Sachsenring circuit saw the Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 collecting only one point after a race disrupted by two crashes.

Niccolò Antonelli retired with three laps to go while he was fighting for sixth place: the 18-year-old Italian rider, who started from the fourth row, battled throughout the whole race in the group behind the top five riders - Miller, Binder, Masbou , Marquez and Kent; Antonelli took the lead of the group in the final stages, before the gearbox coming in neutral forced him to run wide at Turn 1, and consequently to fall.

Due to a crash on the first lap caused by a contact with Brad Binder, Enea Bastianini reached the finish line in 15th place: started well from the tenth position on the grid, the 16-year-old from Rimini was in seventh place when Binder went wide at the last corner touching Enea’s left arm and causing him to lose the front and fall. Bastianini rejoined the race in 30th, but he was nevertheless able to make a good recovery and to collect one point.

"Halfway through the race I tried to take the lead of the group to try to go away: I had already more or less 7-8 tenths of a second of advantage, but the gearbox engaged the neutral so the other riders reached me. In the last laps I tried again to push: I was back in the lead, but I had the same problem with the gearbox and I couldn’t avoid to go wide. Unfortunately I crashed and I was not able to rejoin the track. I'm disappointed because we could safely bring home the sixth place".

"Unfortunately, once again I couldn’t finish the first lap... it's a real shame because I think that today I could stay with the fastest. Coming in the last corner, Binder went wide and hit me on my left arm, making me lose the front. I managed to keep the bike turned on and I rejoined the race: my arm was hurting and I couldn’t push so hard on the brakes, but I recovered several positions collecting one point. Better than nothing ... Now we look forward to the next race".

"I'm really disappointed: today both our riders had a good potential, but once again we didn’t collect nearly anything. Enea was hit by another driver, while Niccolò had a problem with the gearbox coming in neutral: the reality is that once again we couldn’t take a reward for our efforts".
