No. 60 Aero Ford EcoBoost Riley

Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian

OZZ NEGRI: “I think we got the most out of what we have. We have to work a little bit on the chassis setup, we know that, and we’ll keep working very hard. Once again, the team never gave up. They’re pushing all the time, always with the best intention of going forward. That’s our philosophy – working hard all the time. Working for the better. We’re here to win it. As well as the Ford guys, who are always very supportive of us and helping out. The Ganassi team, we’ve been working really well with them. I feel sorry for what happened for them. We’ll take p5.”

JOHN PEW: “I'm really surprised there wasn't (a caution) but in talking to people who race here all the time, they say it's not that unusual. It's such a ‘commitment’ track that people are just a little bit careful here. I found that going on the outside of Turn 2, passing GTs, everyone was very heads up, everyone seemed to be watching out for each other. The consequences here can be big if something bad happens.

“I'm happy with the p5. Our car was not our top car. The track changed between practice and the race and we missed it a little bit. The car was oversteering quite a bit; Ozz and I both struggled with it. But we just kept it together and the top five is good for points. The Ford EcoBoost was flawless. I just love that sound when that turbo kicks in.”

No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost Riley

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates

MEMO ROJAS (Wreck on pre-race recon lap. Initial impact left-rear into track wall): “It was wet in the morning, but the sun had come out before the race so we went out for the recon lap with dry tires. As I left pit road the car started sliding into Turn 2, and just didn’t turn. It was like driving on ice. I hit the wall at very low speed, unfortunately the car was hurt bad enough they couldn’t fix it in time (to make the green flag). We still managed to get driver points for both of us, but I feel really bad for my team. They did an awesome job putting the car together and we’ll make it back.”

SCOTT PRUETT: “First of all, I just want to say how disappointed we are, and for Ford and Telcel and (Chip Ganassi Racing for Felix Sabates). Our guys worked so hard. It isn’t the race we hoped to have here, but we’ll get it turned around.”
