"Momentum and confidence is everything," Tomac said. "I think I'm on it right now."

Tomac has finished second once and third twice in the three motocross races since his return to the GEICO team, and he'd love to take home an overall victory at the Spring Creek National on Saturday at Spring Creek Motocross Park.

The 2013 motocross champion in the 250 class, Tomac has been terrific since coming back from a collarbone injury that forced him to miss the first four races of the outdoor season.

He was third in his first race in Tennessee, then was second at RedBud before bringing home another third last weekend at Budds Creek. What's it going to take for Tomac to take the top step of the podium?

"It's going to take a better start and a better start to the day to be battling for those wins," Tomac said. "We'll be there soon."

Tomac's third-place finish in Budds Creek came in one of the hottest days of the season thus far, proving Tomac's physical fitness. The weather isn't expected to be as fierce this weekend, but Tomac will be ready either way.

"Millville can get hot," Tomac said. "Budds Creek was our first test in the heat this year with the humidity. You can't ever underestimate it but I can get through it now, so I'm not too worried."

Teammate Christian Craig does have concerns over his fitness level after Budds Creek, but that was only his second race back with the team after more than a year out of the sport.

"I've got to get a little bit better," Craig said. "Now I know what I need to work on; I need to put a little bit more time into training. Even though it's hard to with my real job, I'm going to do a little bit longer training sessions. I'll be prepared for the next race and be a little bit stronger."
