Alvaro Barba Confirmed Alongside Sicart, Cordoni-Gattuso Back On Track In Silverstone

Two weeks after a dominating performance in Budapest, where the team clinched an overall win and a second place in Class, Ombra Racing are ready to get back on track for round 5 of the International GT Open. After Germany, Portugal, Spain and Hungary, this time it will be the United Kingdom's turn to host the series promoted and organized by GT Sport.

In Silverstone, "the home of British motor racing", the team will welcome Mario Cordoni back: forced to miss the Hungaroring round due to a business commitment, the Italian gentleman driver will re-join Ombra and the #62 Ferrari in Silverstone, flanked as usual by the quick and experienced Stefano Gattuso.

On the team's other car, Alvaro Barba will be driving alongside Alan Sicart once again. While Stefano Costantini's recovery is proceeding as planned, the young Italian has decided to extend his rest period to make the most of the summer break and return to the championship in September in top form.

The Silverstone weekend will get underway on Thursday with two sessions of testing, followed by two Free Practices on Friday. Saturday will host the two Qualifying sessions and Race 1 (at 3 PM local time), while Race 2 will start at 12.30 on Sunday.

Davide Mazzoleni (Team Manager): "After one race with the #63 alone, we are happy to be back to our usual two-car commitment in Silverstone. This venue is hallowed ground for motorsport, and we will do our best to honor it with another strong performance. After dominating in Budapest Barba and Sicart will have to cope with a very heavy time handicap, but we hope that despite that we will still be able to fight for a podium finish. Cordoni and Gattuso are hungry after missing last round in Hungary, and that's the best premise for a good weekend. We tested with them in Spa a few days ago and they did a very good job, so we're definitely upbeat and looking forward to the weekend".
