Mitchell Jr. (18, Clarendon Hills, Illinois) won the 2013 championship with four wins, ten podiums and three pole positions. It was really important for him to come back and do at least one race in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series again this year. It was really important for not only Mitchell Jr., but also Exclusive Autosport, to have their F1600 operation running at full strength this weekend on the streets of Toronto at the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship promoted by Move Motorsports. It has been a number of years since the F1600 grid has competed at the Honda Indy Toronto. The team is looking forward to having all of their F1600 drivers in full force in Toronto.

Team owner Michael Duncalfe commented, “It is exciting to have Jack join our Canadian squad at the Honda Indy Toronto. The biggest hurdle for Jack will be making the transition from the Hoosier slick racing tires back to the spec Toyo tires. This is also his first time on a street course, so he will have to adapt quickly. We however are confident in his ability as a driver that he will make the transition quickly, maximize the Toyo tires and be in a strong position to challenge for the top spot in qualifying and the two races. I have been working with Jack for four and a half years now, one of his strengths is his ability to learn and adapt quickly. This will suit him will on the streets of Toronto.”

"I am extremely excited and grateful that I will be a part of the Honda Indy Toronto this year in the #01 Exclusive Autosport / Exclusive Management Inc. / Spectrum / Sparco / Honda. Winning the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship last year was an important stepping stone in my career and great preparation for the F1600 Formula F Championship Series in the United States that I am competing in this year. The track looks to be physically demanding and technical, which should make for some interesting races for the fans. I look forward to getting out on track Friday,” said Jack Mitchell Jr.

Mitchell Jr. is currently competing in the F1600 Formula F Championship series in the United States with Exclusive Autosport and is coming off of a second place finish at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Practice begins this weekend Friday morning at 8:05 EST., with qualifying happening later Friday afternoon. Races will run on Saturday morning and Sunday early evening.
