By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

The Formula One F1 series has completed practice session one for the 2014 German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring Circuit in Germany. While there was keen interest since all the cars were competing without FRIC suspensions, there appeared to be no major shake ups in the order of things. Leading the way was Nico Rosberg and his No. 6 Mercedes who turned 29 total laps with a best lap of 1:19.131.

2008 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton and his No. 44 Mercedes was second quick with a lap of 1:19.196, just .065 seconds off Rosberg. The Mercedes pair have spent the off week jabbing back and forth regarding who was more German.

Fernando Alonso and his No. 14 Ferrari was third quick with a lap of 1:19.423.

Daniel Ricciardo and his No. 3 Red Bull Racing-Renault was fourth quick with Jenson Button and his No. 22 McLaren-Mercedes rounding out the top five in the practice.

Sebastian Vettel and his No. 1 Red Bull Racing-Renault was sixth quick followed by Kevin Magnussen (McLaren-Mercedes), Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), Daniil Kvyat (STR-Renault), and Adrian Sutil (Sauber-Ferrari).

Overall, 22 Formula One F1 entries turned hot laps during the practice. Next up, will be practice session two in about two hours.
