2014 German GP: LIVE Stream Formula One F1 Q1 Qualifying - Hamilton Crashes!

By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

The Formula F1 series Q1 qualifying has been completed with the big story being that Lewis Hamilton has crashed into the barriers while under braking - the right front brake bursting. The session was immediately red flag with 7:21 to go. Hamilton did walk away from the accident.

With the Hamilton accident, Nico Rosberg will have a great opportunity to extend his championship points lead, but Hamilton should surely make up ground during the Grand Prix. Rosberg was fastest during the Q1 session followed by Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), and Kevin Magnussen (McLaren).

Knocked out in Q1 were: Adrian Sutil (Sauber), Jules Bianchi (Marussia), Pastor Maldonado (Lotus), Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber), Max Chilton (Marussia) and Marcus Ericsson (Caterham).

Pirelli have brought the soft (yellow) and super soft (red) this weekend. Each driver must use each type of tyre at least once during the Grand Prix.
