2014 Toronto (Race 1): IndyCar Race Results - Bourdais, Chevrolet Win!

By Mike Sulka

Polesitter Sebastien Bourdais and his No. 11 Chevrolet Dallara has won race one of the Honda Indy Toronto on the mean streets of Toronto, Canada. For Bourdais, it is first IndyCar win of the 2014 season, and first of his IndyCar career. It is also his 32nd major open-wheel win and ends a 52 race drought without a victory - his last win coming in 2007 at Mexico City. In addition, it is his second win at Toronto, his last Toronto title coming back in 2004 in the Champ Car World Series.

Bourdais is the ninth different winner in 13 IndyCar races in 2014.

Helio Castroneves and his No. 3 Team Penske Chevrolet would finish second and claim his sixth IndyCar podium of the 2014 season. It was also his 71st IndyCar career podium, and 81st major open-wheel podium.

For Tony Kanaan and his No. 10 Target Ganassi Chevrolet it was his third podium of the year, and 62nd of his IndyCar career - 68th in major open-wheel competition.

Simon Pagenaud and his No. 77 Honda would finish fourth with Scott Dixon and his No. 9 rounding out the top five finishers.

Will Power and his No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet was destined for zero points yesterday, but with the postponement was able to salvage a 10th place result after starting 23rd.

Next up for the IndyCar series will be the second race of the weekend, this afternoon at 3 PM ET.
