2014 Toronto: Andretti Autosport Indy Lights Race Recap

"It was just a hectic race today with the late tire change...we thought it was going to be a wet race but it ended up being dry. Everyone changed to slicks at the start and it was pretty sketchy out there; I probably should have been a little more aggressive on the first lap. I feel like I had a lot of speed during the first half of the race to really sort of fight and make as many positions as I could, but I didn't quite get as many as I'd like to.

"During the middle part of the race it seemed like I didn't have enough speed to keep up with the people in front and then all of a sudden at the end, Jack (Harvey) and I started catching the leaders, and I thought we'd be able to catch them and have a big race to the finish. Unfortunately it was a timed race today, and we weren't able to do that. I'm not overly happy (with fourth place); I'd rather have been at the front, but I'm still pleased with being able to keep it off the walls, survive and get some championship points. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't finish higher or get on the podium for the United Fiber & Data/MAZDASPEED guys."

Zach Veach, No. 26 RePLAY XD
• Came to the twin checkers in the fifth position, bettering his rookie finish from 2013 (seventh)
• Remains in the second position in the championship points fight

"Today was a bit of a struggle for us. We got to race with our teammate (Matthew Brabham) a bit...a few close calls with him (haha), but we ended up with a fifth-place finish and some solid points. In regards to points for the championship, it could have been a lot worse, and we definitely have to be striking back hard to get the win at Mid-Ohio."
