2014 Eldora: Tyler Young NASCAR Truck Race Preview

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) visits the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for only the second time in its 17-year history, but Tyler Young will be making his debut at NASCAR's sole dirt venue. The Midland, Tex. native's partial schedule in 2013 did not include the inaugural 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic, but with a full-season effort in 2014, Young comes to Eldora prepared and eager to continue the team's upward swing.

Young entered the 2014 season with 11 NCWTS starts and has benefited greatly from running a full campaign. After nine races, and nearly doubling his NCWTS experience, Young finds his increased seat time paying dividends, scoring five consecutive top-20 finishes. Young's 17th-place finish in the series last stop at Iowa Speedway in Newton, coupled with a career-best finish of 15th at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth last month, is part of the best five-race stretch of his young rookie career. Eldora's half-mile, clay covered, historic surface offers the Randco Industries/Young's Building Systems team a chance to continue to improve the team's program and notch another impressive finish.

A penny for your thoughts: Tyler Young, Driver, No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado -
"I've been looking forward to Eldora all season and short track races are great opportunities for our team to turn solid runs into good finishes. I can't wait to get on track for practice, because Eldora could give us an even better opportunity to run well. The format is different, and the style of racing may lend itself to be a wild-card race that we can take advantage of this week. We're starting to put good finishes together, and qualifying well, and that will only help us once the green flag drops. We'll have to pay attention to the changes in the track throughout the day and keep up with how fast the surface changes throughout the evening. 150 laps is a long race on dirt, so hopefully we can bring the Randco Industries/Young's Building Systems Chevrolet Silverado home with another solid finish and keep progressing our program."
