o The No. 16 American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop DiabetesSM presented by Lilly Diabetes team unloads Chassis RK-807 this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time this season.

· Action-Packed Weekend in Indy

o Saturday’s race not only marks Reed’s first start at the historic track, but a visit to the home track of presenting sponsor, Lilly Diabetes. It will be an action-packed week for the rookie driver. The week kicks off with Triangle D Camp in Ingleside, Ill. on Wednesday, where Reed will speak with fellow type 1 children as part of the Lilly Camp Care Package speaker program. Following the camp, Reed heads to Indianapolis to visit the Riley Hospital for Children on Thursday. On Friday, Reed and fellow Roush Fenway drivers Chris Buescher, Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will visit Lilly’s global headquarters, which is located just a few miles from the track.

o This weekend also marks the first of two Walgreens ‘Race Around America’ road trips for the 20-year-old driver. Traveling a route selected by fans, Reed will drive the Balance Financial Mustang from Indianapolis to Newton, Iowa. Fans are encouraged to visit racearoundamerica.com to vote on routes and upgrades, as well as watch the webisodes.

· Recapping Chicago

o Reed visited Chicagoland Speedway for the first time last Saturday for a race under the lights. The rookie had a strong car with competitive lap times for the entirety of the race, but untimely cautions left the American Diabetes Association Drive to Stop DiabetesSM presented by Lilly Diabetes team with a 15th-place finish. The finish marked Reed’s eighth top-15 finish of the season.

QUOTE WORTHY
Reed on racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:

“I’m so excited for this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Not only is this one of the most historic race tracks in the country, this is also a home race for Lilly Diabetes. This is such a big race for this whole Drive to Stop Diabetes team, so I know they’ll give me a Mustang that’s capable of racing up front. We are going to have a ton of guests from the American Diabetes Association and Lilly Diabetes, so I’m hoping we can put on a good show for them in the Lilly Diabetes 250.”
