As the defending champion at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Mt. Holly, N.C. resident hopes to capture his third win of the season in front of the hometown crowd
"Overall I think we once again showed that the Andretti Autosport Volkswagens' are the quickest cars out there and the one-two result at Volkswagen Rallycross NY definitely reflected that. The disqualification is very unfortunate and something that we could have predicted going into the weekend. This obviously puts us in a tough position to regain those points, but I'm confident we can fight our way back in the championship. Thanks to the team for another great effort, we'll get our revenge this weekend in Charlotte."

Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen Rallycross NY was Foust's fifth career Global Rallycross victory and 15th career podium finish in 27 career starts.
The two-time Global Rallycross series champion currently sits seventh in the drivers' championship standings
"I've been fortunate to win the last two races I've entered in rallycross, one in Finland (WRC) and last weekend at Volkswagen Rallycross NY, and I'd like to keep that run going! Last year at Charlotte I had a roll and a few mechanical problems that I fought, but the track at Charlotte Motor Speedway all together was awesome. I'm looking forward to taking a second shot at that track with the potent little Volkswagen Andretti Polo R."
