24 Hours Of Lemons Makes 2nd Stop At NJMP August 9-10

The 24 Hours of LeMons, an endurance racing series for cars otherwise destined for the junkyard, will make its second stop of the 2014 season at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J. on August 9-10, 2014.

The series is restricted to cars that are purchased, fixed and prepared for a total of $500 or less, excluding approved safety equipment, brakes and tires.

“There Goes the Neighborhood” is the second installment of the popular event. In May, “Real Hoopties of New Jersey” took over Thunderbolt Raceway with over 150 entries in tow, and plenty of on (and off) track action.

In 2013, the 24 Hours of LeMons went “viral” during their New Jersey event, with SpeedyCop’s debut of the Upside-Down Camaro (attached) – which caught the attention and coverage of ESPN’s Keith Olbermann and Sports Illustrated, among others.

Two days of racing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10th, ending at 6:00 p.m. On Sunday, August 11th, the final race session goes green at 9:00 a.m., with the checkered flag scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

An awards presentation follows at the podium at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
