Add Will Kimmel Experiment To ARCA CRA Line-Up At LOR; Busch, Ragan, Kenseth, Nemechek Lead All-Star Entry List

The ARCA CRA Super Series entry list for Lucas Oil Raceway (LOR) already has a Busch, a Ragan, a Kenseth, a Nemechek....and now you can add a Kimmel.

ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards veteran Will Kimmel has filed an entry in his own No. 69 Accel-Circle Track Magazine Ford. Kimmel joins Kyle Busch, David Ragan, Ross Kenseth, and John Hunter Nemechek as entrants of Friday night's Circle City 100 presented by JEGS.com.

Kimmel's car is a bit of an experiment - an alliance with Circle Track Magazine to find a better way.

"It's a cross between a late model and an ARCA car...that would be the best way to explain it," Kimmel said.

Kimmel also tested at LOR recently and is still working the bugs out of the newer concept car.

"Typically, new cars are never good right away when you first unload. You gotta work on 'em a little bit. We're still working things out with the car."

Kimmel is a spokesperson for Circle Track Magazine.

"This whole thing started when I became a spokesperson for Circle Track. They wanted to be involved with Kimmel Racing so Rob Fisher of Circle Track and Dad (Bill Kimmel, Jr.) got together and started beating around ideas.

"It's a new idea; we wanted to try a late model that was a little different than anyone else's.

"I'm just grateful for the opportunity to try these new ideas out...and grateful for our primary sponsor Accel, who came on board to help with our Circle Track late model effort. The car is flat-black with the yellow Accel decals and the Circle Track logos...it looks great."

Kimmel, with all his energy and focus on the ARCA CRA Super Series race at LOR, will not compete in the ARCA Racing Series SCOTT Get Geared Up 200, which follows the ARCA CRA race at 9:00 p.m. eastern, live on FOX Sports 1.

Kimmel is coming off an impressive run at Chicagoland Speedway last week where, despite losing third gear early on in the race, battled to a fourth place finish.

"We lost third gear, so all things considered, it was a good day."

The ARCA CRA Super Series Circle City 100 show-opener at LOR currently has 28 entries with a wide variety of talent. In addition to Kimmel, Busch, Ragan, Kenseth and Nemechek, the entry list includes Glass City 200 champion/second-generation driver Brian Campbell, ARCA CRA Super Series champion Travis Braden, leading ARCA Racing Series SCOTT Rookie contender Austin Wayne Self, ARCA CRA winner Chad Finley and NASCAR Nationwide/Truck veteran Willie Allen to name a few.

The event marks Kimmel's career-first ARCA CRA Super Series start. Kimmel was the Salem Speedway super late model track champion in 2007.
