The forecast for today is sunny skies and comfortable temperatures. Saturday's forecast as of Friday morning shows rain early in the morning, then returning late at night. "We will just have to see what happens," said Scott Schultz, General Manager of the track. "The plan is to run this race. The forecasts have been all over the place recently." Should the race fall victim to the weather, the rain date is next Saturday, August 2.

Today's practice will be followed by the DTS Drive Train Specialists dinner. BBQ chicken, pulled pork, cole slaw and corn on the cob are on the menu for all Friday pit pass purchasers, courtesy of DTS. Additional dinners will be available for $10 per plate. Drink specials are also planned.

The bonus awards continue to arrive! Trend Performance will award a case of Driven XP3 Racing Oil and a 50% off product certificate for a set of push rods to the winner.

Diamond Racing Products has posted a $333 cash bonus for fast time, and the Discount Tire Gold Cup Series $100 DTS Drive Train Specialists fast time bonus is $100. Moran Chevrolet will now award a set of 4 tires to the fastest qualifier. There's also a $333 Rich and Judi Fidh bonus for most laps led, plus lap money at $5 per lap. Just 21 laps remain for sponsorship as of Friday morning. Call the track at 734-782-2480 to become a lap sponsor!

The race pays $2533 to win and $533 to start. The 33 is in tribute to Stan Yee Sr., whose race cars competed with the #33 on the doors for his 40 plus years as a race car owner and builder. A $500 to win 25 lap B Main will also be contested if 32 cars or over are at the track for this prestigious event. Practice, qualifying, last-chance race(s) and the 25 lap B Main (if 32 cars or over) are scheduled, and the 150 lap feature race will highlight the evening. The track's ARCA Praxair Figure 8 division will also be in action Saturday night.

Race day on Saturday will see the pit area opening at 1:30, practice begins at 3 p.m. and the front gates will also open at that time. Time trials begin at 5:30 and racing gets the green flag at 7 p.m.

Traffic update: Race fans and teams using Telegraph Road through the cities of Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Taylor are encouraged to avoid the area Saturday when heading south to the speedway, due to the Telegraph Road cruise.
