Villorba Corse Awaits The Start Of The 24 Hours Of Spa

Nearly completed its commitments in the qualifying sessions of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, Scuderia Villorba Corse awaits the start of the fourth round of the Blancpain Endurance Series. There remains one last “shakedown” with the Bronze Test scheduled tonight (Friday) at 19:20. Then, after top-ten in Pro-Am qualifying, on Saturday, July 26 at 16:30 Andrea Montermini, Francesco Castellacci, Stefano Gai and Andrea Rizzoli will start the race behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458. In the Belgian “marathon” points will be awarded after 6, 12 and 24 hours of the race which will be crucial for the championship, where Castellacci, Gai and Rizzoli are leading the Pro-Am Cup standings.

“We have one final test for Rizzoli - says Amadio, Team Principal -; it will be a sort of shakedown only. Data show that our Ferrari is ok and that makes us confident. It will be a very long battle as already seen in qualifying, where there was a great fight on the edge of tenths. Traffic and red flags influenced our result and work. Now everything can happen during the race. We are planning an effective strategy and our drivers' stints. We want to give our best to do well in our first adventure in one of the legendary races of motorsport.”

The 66th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the endurance classic and assigning double points, hosts 61 cars (32 in Pro-Am). The race will be broadcasted live on www.blancpain-gt-series.com (clicking on GT TV) and (also deferred or through highlights) worldwide on many TV channels.
