Charlotte - Varx - Heat Report

"This was definitely not the way I wanted to start the weekend here at The Dirt Track. There wasn't much I could do after blowing both tires in qualifying and the first Heat round. Starting from last place in the second Heat made it difficult to pass, especially with the lack of visibility. Tough break for the Volkswagen Andretti team for the first day in Charlotte, but we'll get after it tomorrow and hopefully we'll walk away with a better result."

Tanner Foust, No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo
• Foust was second quickest in qualifying for the fifth round of the Global Rallycross season
• The 41-year-old took the joker lap before the white flag in Heat 2A, capturing the third place position

"Tough break for the Volkswagen Andretti crew, after a solid showing in New York, we really wanted to come out on top this weekend. The Dirt Track has proven to been a fairly challenging and rough track. You definitely need to focus on the start and try to push your way to the front of the pack pretty quickly, once you do that you just need to survive. There are a couple different setups we can look at on the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen, but overall we just need to come out strong and fight our way back."
