Frustrating Final Race In Hungary For Yelloly

Race 2 for the GP3 series in Hungary was a frustrating one for Nick Yelloly, after his fantastic result in Saturdays qualifying and race with 2nd place, Yelloly finished the last race of the weekend race in 11th place.

Starting 7th on the grid, due to top eight reverse grid, Yelloly was hopeful for another great result.
With good weather conditions, the final race got underway and Yelloy made his way to 6th position by the first turn, after a clean start.

While other drivers fought up ahead, Yelloly made a mistake on the second turn and out braked himself and took the car too deep into the corner. This cost Yelloly and from then on he battled with guys around him trying to maintain his tyres in the traffic and he finished in 11th just missing the top ten.

Winner of race 1, Richie Stanaway also fell back into 6th position for race 2, while Patric Niederhaser took first place.

Yelloly said on his final race of the weekend, “By turn one I had managed to get to 6th place. My mistake in this race was, as I tried to take the second corner, I did not brake soon enough and didn't make it, which was very frustrating. My fastest lap was 11, which was good as most other drivers made fastest lap on lap 3.”

Yelloly is still feeling confident for his up and coming races, “I have a couple weeks break before our next race in Belguim, we’ve a great opportunity to move up in the points, with 4 more rounds to go. I Had good results last year in Abu Dhabi and others, so feeling very confident for the remainder of the championship

GP3 Series continues for round 6 at the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps in Belguim, from the 22nd of August.
