2014 Pocono: Tyler Young NASCAR Truck Race Preview

Following his impressive dirt debut at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, Tyler Young and the No. 02 Young's Motorsports team return to familiar ground as they take on the 2.5-mile Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. Although, the return to pavement may be familiar territory for the Midland, Tex. native, Young will be making his "Tricky Triangle" debut inSaturday's Pocono Mountains 150 - marking the sixth track in 2014 that the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has competed on for the first time in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) career. In fact, of the five tracks Young has made his debut on this season, the 24-year-old driver has recorded three top-20 finishes, including a career-best finish of 15th in last week's Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway. Young hopes to keep his string of strong runs going and break into the top-10 following the 11th race on the 2014 NCWTS schedule at Pocono.

A penny for your thoughts: Tyler Young, Driver, No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado -
"I've never raced at Pocono, but I've studied the track and we have over two-and-a-half hours of practice on Friday, so I should be able to get up to speed pretty quick. I know it's a unique, fast, challenging race track, and all three corners are different, but we have quite a bit of experience on this team when it comes to Pocono. Bryan (Berry, crew chief) has been here a couple times and so has my engineer, so we have a notebook to work with. Also, the truck we're taking has performed pretty well this season, so I'm hoping to have a solid run and maybe even break into the top 10 this weekend. We've had a string of strong races the last six weeks or so and I'm just proud of all the effort my guys have put into this program - it's paying off on the race track."

Chassis History:

In fact, in the four starts for this chassis, Young has had a track-best start, and in three of those four starts, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has turned those starts into record-breaking finishes.
