The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series traveled to Long Pond, Pennsylvania this weekend for the Pocono Mountains 150 at Pocono Raceway. Both Red Horse Racing teams advanced to the second round of qualifying, where Germán Quiroga earned the 24th starting position. The No. 17 Red Horse Racing team moved to the final round and qualified in the fifth position to start the 60-lap event. Timothy Peters Earns 12th-Place Finish at Pocono Raceway

Timothy Peters drove the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra to a 12th-place finish in the Pocono Mountains 150. The No. 17 Red Horse Racing team showed speed during the two practice sessions at Pocono Raceway, leading final practice with a 165.975 mph lap on Friday afternoon. Returning to the 2.5-mile triangular track Saturday morning, Peters advanced to the final round of qualifying and earned the fifth starting position. The clouds disappeared and the sun made its longest appearance in two days at the Long Pond, Pennsylvania-based facility. When the green flag dropped, the Red Horse Racing driver was faced with changed track conditions and an extremely loose-handling truck. Despite every effort made by the Marcus Richmond-led team, the condition persisted throughout the 64-lap race. Richmond called for air pressure and chassis adjustments during routine pit stops, and sacrificing valuable track position. In the closing laps and amid a green-white-checkered finish, Peters advanced the red and white machine to finish in the 12th position.

Timothy Peters Quote:
"We honestly weren't expecting the sun to come out and heat up the track like it did this afternoon. We just got loose after that. I had been neutral on exit during practice and qualifying, and was incredibly free once the race started. Marcus (Richmond, crew chief) and the No. 17 Red Horse Racing guys did a great on the pit stops and making adjustments."

Difficult Day for Germán Quiroga and the No. 77 Team
at Pocono Raceway

Germán Quiroga and the No. 77 OtterBox Toyota Tundra team arrived to Pocono Raceway with high expectations of coming home with the checkered flag. Quiroga finished third in his career-first race there in 2013, and he was eager to improve upon that result. As soon as he hit the track on Friday morning for the first practice session however, he knew they didn't have the set up they needed in order to be competitive. The team worked hard all weekend to make the necessary changes to the yellow and black Toyota Tundra, and after posting a 24th-place qualifying lap, the No. 77 crew made additional adjustments needed prior to the start of the race. As soon as the green flag dropped Quiroga quickly began to make his way through the field. The Mexico City native steadily gained spots, and after breaking into the top 15 he made a scheduled pit stop for fuel, four tires, and wedge and track bar adjustments. This gave Quiroga the stability he needed, and he continued to fight his way forward, running as high as fourth. With six laps remaining in the 60-lap event, Quiroga and another competitor made contact while battling for position, requiring him to bring the OtterBox Toyota Tundra to pit road for repairs. The team worked diligently to get the No. 77 truck back in the race. He returned to the field with three laps to go, but was involved in an incident with the same competitor, bringing out the final caution of the day. Quiroga made his way back down pit road so the team could repair the damage and help him finish the race. He made his way back onto the race track for a green-white-checkered finish and completed the event in the 22nd position.

Germán Quiroga Quote:
"We definitely struggled at Pocono (Raceway) today. We could tell as soon as we hit the track that we didn't' have our OtterBox Toyota Tundra the way we needed it. The team decided to abort qualifying and we made the needed changes before the race. Unfortunately our challenges didn't end there, and we weren't able to get the result we wanted. We have half a season left and we're going to refocus and continue to fight for the championship."
