He started dead last, but two timely yellows helped Scott Dixon and his No. 8 Target Chevrolet win the Hondy Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. For Dixon, it is his first win of the 2014 IndyCar season, and 33rd of his IndyCar career. It is also his fifth win at Mid-Ohio in eight tries. In addition, it is his 34th major open-wheel victory which puts him sixth on the all-time list which ties him with Al Unser Jr. Dixon would run out of fuel about 300 yards past the start-finish line.

Dixon is the 10th different winner in the IndyCar series this season. It was also the sixth straight victory by Ganassi racing at Mid-Ohio.

He started on Pole, but Sebastien Bourdais and his No. 11 Chevrolet could not turn the starting position into victory, instead he finished second. For Bourdais, it is his second podium of the year, and 5th of his IndyCar career. It is also his 49th major open-wheel podium.

In third, James Hinchcliffe and his No. 27 Honda picked up his first podium of the year, and seventh of his IndyCar career.

Carlos Munoz and his No. 34 Honda would finish fourth with Graham Rahal and his No. 15 Honda rounding out the top five finishers.

Tony Kanaan and Marco Andretti were taken out in a first lap racing incident. Kanaan would try to get to the inside of Josef Newgarden but the fit would be too tight, spinning Kanaan in front of the field. Andretti couldn't avoid Kanaan, and was once again a victim. Both driver were able to exit their cockpits and walk away from the accident.

Next up for the IndyCar series will be the annual visit to Milwaukee in two weeks.
