Pasin Set For International GT Open Double Date

Pasin Lathouras is pleased to announce two additional dates to his 2014 European racing programme. The Thai driver, who is taking part in his rookie year in the British GT Championship, will now also compete in the next two rounds of the prestigious International GT Open championship. Like his British GT programme, he will be driving a Ferrari 458 GT3 for AF Corse.

Pasin's participation in International GT Open will kick off in exactly a month's time at the sixth round of the 2014 series, which is scheduled to take place at Spa-Francorchamps (5-7 September), and then in the seventh and penultimate round, to be held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, three weeks later (26-28 September).

Founded in 2006, International GT Open has since grown into one of the leading European sportscar series. It takes in only top-level circuits, enjoys widespread live TV coverage and is reserved for FIA GT2 and GT3 homologated racecars.

For Pasin the opportunity to take part in a limited International GT open programme is a welcome addition to his core commitments this season. This is his first season racing in Europe, as well as his first full season outside his native Asia. It's been a big career step up although it's very much regarded as being a learning year.

It will also mark a very quick return to Spa-Francorchamps for the 20-year-old as just last month the previous round of the British GT Championship took place at the Belgian circuit; that was his debut on the famous Formula 1 track. Pasin can also count on some experience of Monza as he raced on the legendary Italian circuit during a one-off entry last year in the Superstars GT Series.

Pasin Lathouras: "I'm really pleased this opportunity has come up and that this extra two race programme has now come together. International GT Open has a strong reputation and has very competitive teams and cars so it's going to great to have the chance to race against them. To continue to be with AF Corse is also really good news as they have been fantastic this year, I have learnt so much from them in British GT and they always push me and expect me to give more than my best. To be racing at Spa and Monza is also great news, these are two of the most demanding and toughest tracks. I really enjoyed my debut at Spa last month so it's pretty exciting to be going straight back again in a different championship. Last year I had the chance to race at Monza, not much you can say really, it's just as up there as it gets in terms of world famous tracks. So it will be good that at least I have some experience of these circuits, rather than being new to every track which has been the case this year."
