Latest Eurov8series Young Racer Emanuele Zonzini Shares Thoughts About Maiden Audi Run

The EUROV8SERIES continues to discover and bring attention on some of the top young prospects in motorsports. One of the brand-new talents of the International Series is Emanuele Zonzini, born in 1994 and fielded as a works driver by Audi Sport Italia after being "discovered" by Dindo Capello, with whom he shares and Audi R8 LMS in the Italian GT Championship. He made his way to the EUROV8SERIES arena at Brno. Although he faced some hard fortunes at the Czech venue, with both his races jeopardized by mechanical issues, he show he has some great potential. As the series prepares to get back on-track for two rounds in Germany (Sachsenring, September 21st - Hockenheim, October 5th) he stopped by to answer a few question about his experience so far.

What was your first feel of the RS5?

It's a phenomenal car! Of course, after winning the title twice in the last two years, it needs no introduction whatsoever. On the other hand, the spirit of our team really helped out a lot. I established a positive relationship with Audi and I want to thank them for the opportunity they provided me with. I also found good chemistry with my Czech team-mate Tomas Kostka, who gave me good advice. Before Brno I just had a shakedown on the car at the Tazio Nuvolari circuit, but I only had the chance to push hard at Brno. It's fun to drive as it requires you to carry a lot of speed into the corners before letting the rear slide and exit full-throttle! An aggressive style is required, and that makes you push harder and harder. In addition to that, the lack of electronic driving aids makes the job even more intriguing.

The EUROV8SERIES will line-up in Germany next September, what are your expectations for that?

We have some great potential and we have to take full advantage of it. I'm really motivated and I have an highly-competitive car beneath. I can't hide that being onto the podium or, why not, winning, will be sensational.

What are your impressions over the series?

I reckon there are high-level teams and drivers, and that fact is demonstrated by how close the positions are. I also found a really cool paddock environment and drivers with lots of tin-top experience. This is a perfect chance to increase my experience level and grow up further in my career.
