Joey Coulter Serves Up Frosty Goodness In Jackson

Frank J. Wisner may get the credit for inventing the root beer float back in 1893, but NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Joey Coulter sure perfected the art of pouring it.

Coulter and Michigan International Speedway President Roger Curtis served up frosty floats made with Barq’s Root Beer and vanilla ice cream to Jackson-area media on Wednesday.

Coulter is in Michigan to promote the Careers for Veterans 200 presented by Cooper Standard Foundation and the Brad Keselowski Foundation. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event will be held at MIS on Saturday, August 16.

“I love doing events like this,” Coulter said. “It’s always fun coming to Michigan – not only to race, but to promote the series. And who doesn’t like ice cream floats?”

The event proved a welcome respite for the hard working local media, all while celebrating National Root Beer Float Day.

Coulter is fresh off a third-place finish last weekend at Pocono Raceway. He’s ninth in series points leading to the next event, which is at Michigan.

“I feel I have some really good momentum heading into Michigan,” Coulter said. “I love the track; it’s so fast and just allows us to race really hard.”
