Ian James (Phoenix, Ariz) and Mario Farnbacher (Ansbach, Germany) have been fast all weekend in the No. 23 Team Seattle-The Heart of Racing Porsche. Farnbacher led the last practice session with a time 2:10.231, a strong time for his first visit to the four-mile, 14-turn Road America circuit. In qualifying the young German improved upon his practice time by turning a 2:09.354 that will have them starting from the second row in GTD in fourth. The time gives the team weekend qualifying bragging rights as the fastest Porsche.

"During practice yesterday I expected more grip from the track," Farnbacher said. "The first two practices we were fine-tuning the set-up. We had some very fast runs on sticker tires. I turned the fastest lap in the session just prior to qualifying. In qualifying we know that the best lap on the tires is the second one and that was my quick lap. We are not the fastest car, but we came out the fastest Porsche in the field. So that is good for the team."

James likes the speed of the blue 23 Porsche.

"We rolled off the truck pretty good yesterday," James said. "The team has been working on some small changes and we have improved every session. We have the fastest Porsche as Mario proved in qualifying. He was also fastest in the previous practice. We have done some updates since Indy to keep the brakes cool. We have to manage it to the end and be ready for last sprint to the finish."

Alex Job, team owner, has the top Porsche.

"We won the Porsche Cup for qualifying," Job said. "Ian and Mario have been working with the team to get the last bit of speed out of the Team Seattle-Heart of Racing Porsche and it showed in qualifying. Mario turned a good lap. We held him to just one flying lap with the focus being on tire conservation for the race. I think he may have had a tenth or two left in him, but we are looking at the big picture."

The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Road Race Showcase round seven, Aug. 8-10 will be broadcast, tape delayed, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday. Live race streaming can be viewed at IMSA.com or on the FOX Sports GO mobile app. The live radio broadcast will air on the Motor Racing Network on IMSA.com, MRN.com, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).
